La Liga Announces China Mobile Deal 

Telecommunications company China Mobile has agreed to a non-exclusive media rights deal with La Liga, which runs until 2022/23. Under the terms of the contract, China Mobile will carry the top flight La Liga team Santander and all fixtures featuring second-tier team Espanyol, which features Chinese national, Wu Lei. Naomi Osaka Adds Tag Heuer to Growing Endorsement Portfolio

Japanese tennis star,  Naomi Osaka, has become a brand ambassador for luxury Swiss watch brand, Tag Heuer. Osaka will wear the brand in all her tournament matches this year, including at the 2021 Olympics. It is the second endorsement deal announced this month by the 23-year-old after being confirmed as the new face of French fashion house, Louis Vuitton. Naomi is a three-time Grand Slam winner and has been ranked number one globally by the Women’s Tennis Association – the first Asian player to hold the top ranking in singles matches. New York Knicks Top NBA Franchise Valuation List at US$5.42 billion

The New York Knicks are reportedly the most valuable franchise in the NBA, worth $5.42 billion, according to Sportico’s 2021 NBA Franchise Valuations Report. Per the report, the average NBA franchise comes in at a $2.4 billion valuation, and the NBA’s cumulative team revenue of $8.3 billion represents a nearly 10 percent drop. Team Liquid Welcomes WNBA Star Aerial Powers as Brand and Diversity Ambassador

Team Liquid, a Netherlands and U.S.-based Esports organization, announced that Aerial Powers, former WNBA champion with the Washington Mystics, will join the organization as a brand and diversity ambassador while also streaming for the team. Powers has also become a prominent gamer within the scene, recently organizing an all-women NBA 2K tournament. The 26-year-old signed with Ford Model’s Esports and Gaming division in October 2020. Mumbai Indians Rank as IPL’s Most Valuable Brand for 2020

Mumbai Indians registered the highest brand value in the 13th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL). According to a study by brand valuation agency, Brand Finance, the most successful team in the history of the IPL marked its stronghold in the sponsor market by registering a 7.1% spike in its brand value. NBC Sports Group Helping Tokyo Olympics Marketers Create More Effective Ads

US broadcaster NBC is seeking to boost its advertising operation for the Tokyo Olympics with a new sales platform designed to help advertisers create more effective messages. The Olympic Ad Engine was started by using machine learning and traditional research to analyze 671 campaigns during the Rio 2016 and PyeongChang 2018 Games, along with 897 different thematic elements. Vitality partners with England and Great Britain’s Women’s Hockey Teams

Great Britain’s Women’s hockey has received an ‘enormous boost’ ahead of their Tokyo Olympic Games campaign. As part of the deal, Vitality’s company logo will be visible on both the England and Great Britain Women’s hockey team shirts. Tottenham Hotspur Launches New Korean Twitter Account

Tottenham Hotspur has launched a new Korean Twitter account to further engage its growing fanbase in the homeland of one of the club’s star players, Heung-Min Son. The Club is currently the most-watched and best-supported overseas soccer team in South Korea, with thousands having traveled to North London to watch the team in action in recent years. The Spurs already have a popular account on Naver TV – Korea’s most prominent digital streaming platform – as well as establishing a Korean language Facebook page, club website, and Official Supporters’ Club.
